Dented rounds from action
branflakes:
I have a bit of brass that I am holding on to because I wanted to reload it. Will that still be possible if it is doing this to the steel and the brass will be more beat up?
Uncle Billy:
oh yeah it will....get beat up. but don't take my word for it, fire a round and see for yourself :)
SweaT-Rex:
Dented brass is fine to reload for the AK or SKS as long as the case mouth is OK after resizing. The previous dents will disappear after firing & return usually in another spot on the case. X39 is a relatively low pressure round & has a long service life in reloading as long as you don't load it too hot.
vz2452:
Get yourself a PTR91 or a CETME if you want to know what mangled brass looks like. And that's assuming you can find the spent cases. My Mini 14 does worse then that too. Don't worry about it. As long as the brass fits in the chamber or a case gauge after resizing you should be good.
