Old tired Maadi
branflakes:
I am not sure of where it was made. Should have taken more pictures. The kid took it on a trade. I do not like that it was painted black at one point. The entire rifle. Inside receiver, on bolt, outside of barrel, dust cover.
UHG, am I able to crimp the open end so it doesn't sit so low on the gas block? Would replacing it be better? The bolt return spring on the maadi has two wires hooked together under the spring and my mak has a rod inside another rod. I like the rod version better. Is there somewhere to look for used and new old stock or new ak parts? (extractor spring) Google is getting more and more like amazon. You search 'ak bolt' or 'ak spring' and they come up places to buy stickers.
He is a town over. I am waiting for him to send me some pictures that I have requested.

Where can a bolt group be sourced?
Also, are there different sizes or specs of bolts from different countries? Does Chinese differ from Yugo? If I get American made parts, do they need to be specific for this rifle?
Hodgie:
These guys typically have a lot of AK parts.

I would also check Numrich.

If my memory serves me correctly the Maddi AKM’s aren’t typically high on the desirability scale. I believe most came into the US as Avery worn parts kits at a time when home builds and poorly done commercial builds were very common.
Did you happen to notice any import marks?
Lafayettegregory:
from looking at the prices of parts on GB you might be best served by buying a parts kit at about 229.00
Uncle Billy:
the only MAADI that I know of that real rough machining like that in the bolt carrier channel and the carrier, are the MISR ones ie. MISR-10 AND MISR S/A,..
