BTW guys, for all of you who are saying that they'd be willing to pay the cost, you do realize that we'd be talking about $600 per person not including food right?  That would be pretty expensive even for just the three days without the food.

Since the cost of the actual land rental is up 900% like was explained early in the feed, the over night camping part is out unless we can get more people than the land will support. I still plan to be out there early in the Day on March 28 for a few hours of shooting as a range day customer. I hope some of you will join me

Where do you get that figure from exactly? Because the cost of the food would not go up. The only cost going up would be the range fee which is again, $400 a day. The event is three days, meaning the cost to use the facility would be $1200 for those three days. Now, where our current issue comes in with that is the event is no longer three days, its the entire week. We have people that show up on Tuesday for God's sake and the main reason for that is the setup. So, we'd basically have to pay for three extra days of just setup unless we cut down on the "extravagance" a little bit.

Do we really need eighty-seven pop up tents? Do we? Jesus people if we rent out the range for the weekend I'm pretty sure we can use the building if it rains. The whole kitchen area is now a massive setup that eats up most of the time, so I have to ask do we really need to stretch out the area with netting all over the place? Or can we leave it to just the back section, which was originally added with safety in mind so that people wouldn't trip on the electrical lines.

The price for the days of the setup is what would kill us. Obviously this won't change the price of the range for three days, but it is still doable if we don't have all the extra parts to it. Now, again that will be a heavy check to write because the price for the event will go up drastically. On the low end without doing much math (RV might be able to give an actual number) we'd probably have the raise the price point to about $130-$150 a person. I know that's double the price, but we also have the option of breaking the shoot down to once a year so it can even itself out in the end.

Mind you these are only suggestions, and if anyone else has any ideas please share them, but I believe it is possible to continue the shoot at the same location.

I think we can still make it happen at the same spot. I also vote for cutting down on some of the extravagance, that would cut costs and save time as well.

Alright everyone, here's the deal:

A determination has been made that it is possible to continue the Survivors SKS Boards Shoot at the same location. However, there are a few things that have to be done in order to pull it off.

We can keep it extravagant with lights and a million pop up tents, that isn't an issue.

We will also be maintaining the quality of the food, so no cooking burgers and hot dogs over an open fire.

We will also only plan on hosting the event once a year instead of twice a year, mainly as a convenience towards saving everyone some money, because the cost will be going up.

The price will need to be raised to about $100 (this is still a ballpark figure and may increase). With that said, here's the important part. We need to have a minimum number of paying attendees and they will have to be registered and paid in full well before a month out from the event (No refunds).

We wish to be able to continue the South Florida Shoot and keep it in the same great location, but this is the bottom line guys. It can be done but it will take a lot on everyone's part.

So with that said, who's in for October?

Lets just say I'm very familiar with the event providers and have spoken with them, and this is the deal they gave.

I might be up for October.  I'll probably still be in Atlanta so I'd have to fly in to Miami (meaning I'd have to rent a car) but I might be able to pull it off.

Look and see how the flights are to Fort Myers or Palm Beach. Might put you a little closer.

For anyone who was planning on showing up at the range tomorrow be advised it will probably be closed. I have called the sheriffs office twice and both time they gave me a run around so don't count on it being open.
