AK FSBs are taller than an SKS FSB, did you do anything to verify and correct the height variance between the front and rear sights?

Raising the rear sight makes it easy to line up with the AK-47 FSB.

Got pics?

Larry

I meant to say that I was adjusting the rear sight leaf upward.

Additional options for compliance with AK-47 FSB.

Oh, I thought you had modified the rear site block.  That rear leaf would be a little to "weird" for my tastes.

Still, another nice job overall.

PS: I kindof wish we had started breaking this thread up into chunks when it first started -- lots of great information, but it's tough to find things with this many posts in a thread.

That's perfectly fine; I have no issues with that.

The combination of the Yugo SKS stock and Picatinny folding AK-47 buttstock is complete. The length of the pull (LOP) measures approximately 12.5 inches.

Here are pictures of my latest modifications to the SKS rear sight. It accommodates any red dot scopes or flip-up rear sights that are compatible with the Picatinny rail.

The Amazon rear sight rail was designed for the AK-47, and after making slight modifications, it was successfully installed. I now prefer it over my previous option.

The fixed rear sight is complete. The front AK-47 sight will be adjusted by rotating the front sight post at the shooting range.

I was testing my new SKS build at the shooting range today. Everything went flawlessly. I shot at the target while standing, without any support for the gun. However, the Picatinny rail was too long, so I could not load the magazine with the stripper clips. The issue was resolved once I got home.

Mojo rear, with the globe front, together they're like ghost rings. The Williams Fire sight with the aperture removed is similar. Both have windage and elevation adjustments. The Techsite 200 has longer eye relief but, for me, takes more aiming. PAX

The AK-47 front sight is higher than the SKS front sight, and those sights don't work.
I found the best Picatinny rear sight block at Evike.com, which perfectly suits my needs. Unfortunately, that item is out of stock, but I will be informed when it is back in stock.

My new Russian SKS build features all original Russian parts, though the serial numbers do not match.
Finding a laminated handguard was nearly impossible.

I was just giving some examples for stock rear sight replacement. I've been on the hunt for a laminated HG forever. Either wrong color or wrong price, PAX

I have explored various options for adjustable rear sights, including the ones you recommended.
