I was just giving some examples for stock rear sight replacement. I've been on the hunt for a laminated HG forever. Either wrong color or wrong price, PAX

I have explored various options for adjustable rear sights, including the ones you recommended.

I thought I saw somewhere that there was a peep replacement for the stock ladder, PAX

Today is a wonderful day. The rear sight from Evike.com is in stock, and I purchased it.

After a thorough adjustment, the 75-round drum magazine is now securely installed and ready for use. It wasn't a plug-and-play piece.

I have two Russian SKS trigger groups, and both were missing the lever spring. Initially, I thought the springs were broken, so I installed a safety lever spring on one of the trigger groups. Eventually, I began to think it wasn't a coincidence, so I searched for answers online.
I quickly found that the Russians use two different trigger groups: one designed without a spring and the other that includes one.

The early 1st gen FCGs did not incorporate the flat spring for the safety lever. It was added in the 2nd gen FCGs.

So, I have modified the fire control group from the first to the second generation while leaving another trigger group unchanged.

I removed the barrel from the chopped receiver by soaking it in a mixture of ATF and acetone for about 10 hours. After that, I turned the barrel counterclockwise, and it came off easily.

I received the RPK rear sight from Evike.com. Secured with two set screws. It looks great and is compatible with the AK-47 front sight.

The aperture I mentioned was a direct replacement for the SKS ladder like the one you displayed but was only the slider. It was a decade ago at least. PAX

If you often change the handguard, here is a simple modification you can make. I tapped the existing hole with an M3 tap and secured the ferrule using an M3 x 12 mm set screw. Since the screw is a bit long, I used a Dremel to trim it to the appropriate length.

You can also use a trimmed finishing nail, PAX

The installation process is simple, but removal can be difficult. I can still insert a pin, nail, or rivet into the gas tube instead of a set screw.

I swapped a standard chrome-plated bayonet for a polished one on my Russian SKS build.

This DIY project involves creating SKS tabs using genuine leather strips to replace the worn vintage tabs on one of my slings. I used an oil-based wood stain to color them.

Nice!  I particularly like the second hole to keep the leather from continuing to split.   Are you going to round off the corners?
