Scope Mount
« on: May 01, 2013, 07:34:34 PM »
Took some time but here's a sneak peak of one of the first 10 prototypes of the new scope mount we are about to offer to the public.

More pics coming showing it mounted forward, and backward, for any style scope or red dot or whatever.

CNC machined from 6061 T-6 Aluminum with Mil Std 1913 picatinny rail. Anodized and finished matte black, (for the time being) and supplied with 4 screws and instructions on where to drill & tap. Can be mounted with rail pointing rearward for the shorter eye relief scopes and red dots, and can be mounted pointing forward for longer eye relief scopes.

The Carrier and Bolt can be removed for cleaning the gun, without disturbing the mount/scope at all. And the round slot milled into the inside upper area allow you to see your iron sights as well.

The mounting slots serve the purpose of getting your scope lined up as far as elevation is concerned, as many SKSs have barrels that may not be attached to the receiver squarely and may point up or down slightly, but normally not far enough off left to right to prevent using the scopes adjustments to get it dialed in. And it can be mounted "above" the stock, or small modification to the stock allows slightly lower mounting.

It's looking like this mount is going to retail at twice the cost of the Choate mount, but is much lighter, has quality machining and looks, and is as stable, if not more so than all the others. (bad news last, but it is a quality American made product)

Stay tuned as we have plans to make a special offer tomorrow, to the first 10 that would like to send their barreled receiver, scope and rings, for mount/drilling/tapping/mounting/boresighting package deal.

Looking forward to seeing pics of the mount attached to an SKS
I'm tired of reading about SHTF.   I am planning for the more likely scenario SSDD (Same Sh_it, Different Day).

Guess the pics answer your question, retcolusa.

And here's the special deal. The 1st 10 that send us an email saying they are ready to send their gun, scope and rings and want us to drill & tap and install the mount, we'll do the dr & tap for half price, ($52.00) plus the Mount is $80.00, and we'll mount and boresight for free. Add $25.00 for return shipping and you'll be getting a deal that saves you $94.50 off the regular price. ($157.00 total) But if you're from TX you'll have to add $9.82 sales tax.

We do plan to have a few more ready for those who simply want to purchase the Mount in a few days. So if you're interested in a straight purchase of the Mount, please send an email saying so and we'll put you at the head of the list.

I'll take a package deal if this will fit a Sporter.  I'm in TX, so my math says total will be $166.82, is that correct?  Also, I am not going to send a scope or rings, as I intend to mount a red dot on the rifle.

Just to be sure I would send them an e-mail to secure a place on the list.

As the first to respond, and since your needs are different than standard scope mounting, you'll be offered a deal that should save you considerably from that total. PM inbound.

This would come out after I have already installed my choate mount!!!!!  If the holes lined up on the one side that I already drilled I would consider it. What distance apart are the mounting holes?

Two inches. With the back hole being 1 3/4" from the rear of the receiver. And .200 down from the top of the receiver.

Very nice Murray.

Could you tell us a bit about how this all this started, who designed it,
what software was used and do you have any futures plans to release
any other mounts in maybe a different style?

Thanks!  :)
