PSOP scope and mount
« on: February 04, 2021, 09:59:32 AM »
Hello everyone
I have a miss matched yugo sks
And I want to put a psop scope on
It and use a molot mount. The psop
Scope is the small on I think 4×24
Anyway does anyone know if it
Will prevent me from using the stripperclip
Function.
I have searched for a mismatched yugo to
Build my dream rifle.
Thanks
Ric

https://kalinkaoptics.com

I have ordered from them several times. High quality

As for stripper clips? Find the right mount and it shouldnt. Something like this: https://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scopes/posp/posp-6x24-w-black-finish-1000-meter-rangefinder-rifle-scope-sks-svd-version.html

yeeeeeeeeeeeeah, are you sure you want a PSOP 6X24 scope on your SKS?????

because this is what you are looking at.

not only won't you be able to use stripper clips.........but those ejected casing are going to hit the scope,  unless you put a defector on it......then there is always the possibility those ejected casing might bounce back into the action.

it's your gun you can do anything you want.......but if you want to be able to use stripper clips with the scope on it, and for the mount to be solidly on the rifle, then you might want to look at something like this

Many of the POSP scopes are mounted off to the side to allow stripper clip use. I believe that one is

The issue with many of those scopes is that they are way too high for the SKS . . . more like a chin weld than a cheek weld.

Just be careful about the specs when ordering . . .

that can "corrected" with a cheek riser, there is no shortage of the variety of those. I bought the one on my COWBOY COMPANION about the same time I bought the SKS it.  I have no complaints as it works pretty darn good :)

Now im unsure of which to get.  I have seen a picture of a sks with a pu scope on it but I haven't seen a picture of a sks with a psop on it.  I have been thinking about it but haven't seen a picture.  I contacted Klinka optics
But they did not answer my question.

apparently you didn't click on the link I posted on my first post........the one that links to this board, if you did you would have seen the SKS with the PSOP scope on it. the poster just put it on a aftermarket stock, but you're looking at what it would look like on the SKS

Sorry I did miss it I'm sorry.  What do you think of the Molot mount?    It looks like it sits low enough on the on the rifle that you may not need a cheek rezt.
