I found some time to clean the Turknelli stimulus gun and get it ready for some range time.  I may get to shoot it tomorrow, provided it doesn't rain the whole day.  Field stripping these are pretty easy, and I like that the operation is pretty simple.

It was missing the windage adjustment screw, and I contacted Classic Customer service.  They are supposed to be sending another one, but I'm not holding my breath.

The fit and finish is pretty good on this gun, and the action is smooth.  The gas plug piston and cylinder assembly was heavily greased, and one of the o rings was in pretty bad shape.  I have 3 replacement o rings coming in the mail.

I hope no one tries to fire these right out of the box.  I think the heavy grease on the gas piston would gum up pretty bad.  The manual that comes with the Turkish guns are pretty comical.  Most of the manual is warnings about gun safety and disclaimers about damage, and the last few pages are vague operation and disassembly instructions.   I ended up downloading the Benelli M4 manual as a reference for take down and maintenance procedures.

I didn't take any pictures, but it's identical to this one:

Have you shot the Kalashnikov yet?  Coworker got his in.  Gave him a box of 00 to fill up the mag.  How much was the drum?

Have not shot the Kalashnikov and it’s killing me. All my spare time has been taken up but I’m hoping to get out this weekend.

The drum was $101.50 from grabagun.com shipped.

Was able to run some shells through the Kalashnikov last weekend. Thought I posted some pics but can’t find em if I did (Obiden syndrome  :)). Had to turn the gas up to cycle the Walmart loads. Had a few failure to eject completely on the target loads. There is a break in period.

Another Obiden moment, I forgot to take the drum!  :banghead: The ten round mag worked flawlessly. Gonna try to purchase a few more when they become available. Put some of that wuhan flu money to good use. :)

This is slugs and then 00 buck (2 3/4). I gotta say, the slugs are pretty impressive.

Slug hit at the bottom

My buddy has a speed puck in his saiga, anyone have experience with these?

Funny we went out too. Brand new. There was one round that didn't charge all the way forward. I told bud that there might be a break in period too. We only shot target from it and only have the one box mag.

I enjoyed it.  Smoother than I thought, follow up shots came with ease. Might have to get me one? The benelli style would fit me better I think, if the loading is same as 500/870.  I'm a little envious.

So the safety lever catches the bolt for loading a mag. Imo mag should hold bolt open for next mag. Didn't think about it at the range, but you basically have to hook the bolt back to put in a mag every time right?

I believe you are correct in that. The bolt should hold open on the last round but it doesn’t. Safety lever to hold the bolt open.

Hi JimmyJamesKY -  I just got a Daly 601 Tac that looks like that except just a short mag tube (5 rnd - Canada max for semi).  You're right about cleaning them good, mine had a bunch of chips and c--p inside.    Haven't been out yet, my range still had the half-mile driveway full of snow - I'm not into snow-shoeing with range bag and a few guns.  :(  This Daly should be OK, I've read good reviews just like for the Hatsan Optima (second), Girsan MC312 (top) I bought last Summer and the Hatsan 14" Marine Guard in the Fall.  I'm ready for the Zombies now if my SKS doesn't hold them back   The 14" is good for 3-4" @ 50 & 6-8" @ 100 w/bead only.

Nice collection of shotties you've got there! We have to jump through all kinds of ATF hoops down here to have a shotgun with a 14" barrel AND a stock.  There are pistol versions that short, but they are about useless without a stock IMO.

I cleaned my Radikal Turknelli today, and it was suprisingly clean after about 200+ rounds of various types of shells.  First time I had the Trigger Group out, and it still had a nice coat of factory oil.  Was some carbon on the pistons, but aside from the barrel and a little brushing on the gas pistons, cleanup was easy.  The hard part was getting the lead and plastic out of the barrel.

I don't really buy the "self cleaning" claim for the M4 from Benelli, but I believe these guns take minimal maintenance, and I doubt you could foul them to the point that they stop running.  I like a well oiled machine though.

The next range session will be to pattern with the new IC choke I just bought.  I want to compare the IC against the Cylinder bore choke with some 00buck and #4buck.

Hey Eddie, but sure to break in that CD601 with some full house buck or slugs if you're able.  I have yet to find anything that won't cycle in mine (knock on wood) but I did start out with a box of high brass buck.
