Afghanistan... is it just me?
« on: August 28, 2021, 10:44:14 PM »
Not for nothing but I have to say this. Being a Conservative with a Libertarian twist I was all ways of the mind YOU are responsible for where you hang your hat at night. Not the Gov, your mommy or your doctor. That said, I dont fault the Service men for following orders on being in overseas assignments but this rant is on the nit wits like Americans taking vacation in Afghanistan and the Ass hole teacher from Cali that took her school class trip to that poppy heaven of heroin producing crap hole of a country....Afghanistan !

WTF   are they thinking going there when a Democrat gets in the WH, foreign policy never ever ends well for Americans abroad in these radical charged Islamic nations. Its like no one EVER was an American hostage or had their throat cut because they were Christian? ..... naw wont happen to me the idiot American says...... I'm sick & tired of the media crying for all the civilian dopes stuck over there. The fact that even the Afghanies dont understand simple physics of gravity upon an air born body is more than enough evidence to stay the fuch out of that country. If THEY are scared of the Taliban THAT MUCH...... and you stick around after that Ass Biden gets in  :withstupid: ....... You deserve a life lesson in reality.
There........... I said it.  Stupid is at epidemic proportions in this country.

I agree,  There are probably missionaries and human right orgs and other well meaning but near do wells who get caught in conflicts which is bad enough.  But others like those idiots who travel there as tourists thinking its stable because they believed the state dept narrative, all the while the news of the Taliban offensives all through late last year and this year should have been a clear red flag.

However, this is not new, and I don't really know if its so much that the amount of stupid is worse, but its certainly indulged much more than ever, probably because people have been brow beat into not criticizing anyone, unless its for any traditional institutions which seems is popular to try and tear down.

Recall the hikers in Iraq that strayed into Iran, or the preacher trying to convert Iranians to Christianity etc and got caught. What ever makes people think its a great idea to do things that are incredibly risky and seem oblivious to that is truly baffling.

Many Americans are so deep in their "first world problems" that they can't use the heads.

Put the blame where it belongs: On the parents.
Sending a kid to Afghanistan for vacation is simply an ignorant, stupid, careless decision. It would be like my parents saying "Hey, let's send him to Khe San during the Tet Offensive because Vietnam is such a beautiful country.

Parents are separated from reality in too many cases. They want their kids to be happy so they don't expose them to things that might depress them. Death, for instance. My son had a kid from his school die in a car accident. Half the parents of his classmates refused to allow their high schoolers to go to the funeral home.

Kids don't know what death is. They think they're immortal

So, a vacation to Afghanistan doesn't seem unreasonable.

This is what's wrong with our media, they are not reporting, they are creating perception.   When you learn more about this its not quite as the media portrayed.  1st off you have to wonder why is the school district involved  when it was essentially family visits for foreign nationals.    :-s

Several of the parents are with them.  Actual numbers are all over the place of how many are actually there according to different reports, anywhere from 14 to 24 students and other family members as well.

https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2021/08/26/almost-two-dozen-socal-students-trapped-in-afghanistan/

“Several of our families over summer break independently decided to go home to Afghanistan and see their extended family. A lot of the families, their nuclear families, are here, but all their grandparents and everybody are still in Afghanistan,” Michael Serban, Cajon Valley Union School District’s director of Family and Children Engagement, told KFMB.

The students and their parents are not U.S. citizens, according to the Los Angeles Times. They reside here on special visas for U.S. military service and are considered allies by the Department of Defense.

I can see vacationing in Afghanistan if you live in Chicago, but California is pretty nice.  Gun laws not withstanding. Of course I haven't been there since the 8th grade, but I had a blast living in SoCal as a kid.

IF I was going to take a trip to the M/E, it would be to Egypt to see the pyramids, or Turkey to see Gobekli Tepe. Gobekli is a recently discovered temple complex that is throwing the archaeological community into turmoil because it's a huge temple complex built 11,000 years ago, when we were supposedly still hunter gatherers.  It shows a degree of sophistication well beyond what traditional scholars claim we were able to do in that era.

But yeah, I like trips that you can come back from.  Afghanistan is definitely rolling the dice.

I lived in El Cajon, and was actually a student in Cajon Valley School District. I went to Lexington Elementary and Emerald Middle School.

I doubt mom would have let me go to Afghanistan, she was nervous about shopping in Tijuana..

It's not the parents fault, cause they got all their info from the MSM..

"We're winning the War!!"

"The West trained Afghan military will stand firm"

"The TAliban is loosing the War"

ect ect ect..

Blame the MSM and Brass in the Pentagon.

Afghanistanies (students and parents here on visas) go home to visit family.  Now, can't get back to U.S.
Trump was going to empty the place by May.  Made a deal late last year with the Taliban for a peaceful exit.
That should have been a sign NOT TO GO over the summer.  Parents and students went, but their 'nuclear families' stayed behind.
Hope the trip wasn't for 'Special Training'.

Big hint here for you travelers:
Don't go to someplace that is planning a U.S. troop draw down.

Any of them that apply.

Though I admit even though I avoid those places, I do frequents several states that are in chaos often, like Disarray, confusion and dismay. :)

The scary part about all this is that population within Islam has capitulated whatever human freedoms they could have had to physical threats from "Cleric" controlled governments. Here in this material side of the world, the Liberals are setting it up with YOU will cause the death if you dont do as they dictate ......... clever pricks... Arnt they.
Push goes to shove, who will be standing against them here?  Off course those of us that don't know any better.
