Front sight for a yugo 59/66
« on: November 30, 2021, 01:13:25 PM »
My Yugo SKS 59/66 is missing its front sight attachment/bayonet. I have not been able to find any place to buy one. Why are these so difficult to find? What are my options for a replacement? Will any other versions fit? A scope setup which wouldn't look gaudy?

Are you referring to the front sight post, the whole assembly, or what? Post a pic of that part of your SKS so we get a better idea of what you are needing.

Also, as an FYI, there is an introduction section you should post in first. Give us an intro and a howdy. http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?board=72.0

Not sure how you're supposed to take a picture of a missing part, but maybe this will help.
There are several places that sell parts but they are all subject to shortages, like the rest of us. You can find them on ebay sometimes or you might have better luck just googling it.
You can also find a suitable replacement at <www.bulletbutton.com>. It's called the Prince 50. I don't have any experience with them but most people here really like them. I have also heard of people using a front sight from a Hi-Point 995, but no experience there either.
Good luck. Let us know what you decide to do.

Thanks GG, for the shout-out.

I have both styles for you. PM me and I'll get you set up. If your barrel is still stock length I have original bayonet combos with front sight bases. You will have to remove it from the barrel stub, or I can do it but that will be more $$.

Let me know in a PM.
