Purchased a nearly complete (no cleaning kit) matching numbers (U682XXX, from 1984, I believe) Yugo last night from an Uzbekistani fellow on Armslist. It's fairly clean, but definitely used and has a good clean bore. My only issue is the GL spigot has been replaced with some janky looking muzzle brake and welded in place. I assume this is to comply with some weird laws in Karenfornia, but I don't know. I believe I have a spigot for this gun from another donor but I'm not sure how to go about removing this monstrosity. Are they typically pinned or just welded? The weld is right on the back side of the brake and it's just a spot weld that should be easy to grind and flie down. I just don't know if that's the only thing keeping it on there. I eventually want to have a complete looking rifle and definitely want to use that GL, just for fun. Has anybody else successfully cut one of these off or am I looking at another scrap barrel?
Thank you,
Gator
