Original Chinese SKS slings, apparently new production under $5
« on: December 09, 2024, 04:07:52 PM »
Hey guys, I was on one of those less than reputable Chinese bargain sites recently.  The type that really want you to add their app on your phone but which I only access via strong protection through my PC.  Anyway, I've actually made a couple of small purchases from this one and they've been OK but I was a bit surprised recently when I saw what looked identical to original SKS slings but apparently brand new production.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see it on this site, but I thought you guys may want to check it out.  They had both the green and black ones for less than $5 each, though the prices fluctuate a lot on this site.  Also, many times the exact same product seems to be listed different times sometimes at different prices and different levels of stock in hand.  It may be that they're getting it all from different factories or something but that's just speculation.

Anyway, I thought you guys may be interested.  One word of warning; I wouldn't recommend installing their app on your phone, and perhaps try using a different browser that you're not logged into all your accounts on.

Here's the link to what I ordered.  It says it's almost sold out but it seems to say that on almost everything and stock is usually replenished at some point though not on any consistent schedule.  There are other slings too if you're interested.

I like the black ones. They look good on wood & black poly. Next to a Romy style they're my fav. PAX

I got mine today.  I'm actually pretty impressed. The canvas is crisp and brand new.  The buckles are both painted and in perfect condition.  There are no markings or cartouches on the green one.  I doubt there'd be any on the black one as it wouldn't be visible anyway.  The leather straps are brand new and in perfect condition as well as the aluminum rivets.  I own several of these slings and these are by far the nicest ones I've ever gotten.  In fact, I'm thinking of ordering more.  Other than the very slow shipping, they're definitely worth the price.

I haven't seen black ones for a long time. I dye the leather keepers black with shoe polish. PAX

Well, you can get them for less than $5 over on that site.  Shipping is free, but there's a $20 minimum order and it takes about two weeks to arrive.

In the past I have ordered a couple things from Temu, including a sling, but not for the SKS, and some pouches.  Its the typical Chinese sourced stuff, some is the same you buy on other outlets, like EBay and cheap firearm related vendors, some is even worse. It is relatively slow to ship, and comes in bags instead of boxes, but it is usually much cheaper than anywhere else.

What's irritating with much of the Chinese sourced items and not just gun stuff, they claim its US warehoused, and then you have to wait for it to get into the country anyway, its out right fraud sometimes.  Temu makes no such claims about it, its coming straight from wholesalers in China usually.

Courage is knowing it may hurt and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same.

Agreed, you really have to be realistic about what you're getting, but in the case of the SKS sling, they were originally cheap Chinese mass produced stuff so it's basically as good as you're ever going to get anyway.
