I thought I had the biggest wrench till I saw that monster, Do you guys work at New Holland?

No but in the same neck of the woods the last I checked.

Anyway to re-barrel a sks with a Hart barrel? Would a cheater bar help on that wrench? Sorry for so many questions.

I dunno bout the Hart barrel but on the cheater bar that would help with a small feller I guess.
The reason spit's on the wrench is he has to duck under the overhead lights in the shop and they're up there at about the 8' mark. I'm sure a cheater bar would just get in his way.

That's awesome.  Now how about a video ofshow to install and headspace the barrel into a new receiver?

Headspace is set at the fit between the bolt and its insert in the receiver

Are you asking about techniques for clocking the barrel to receiver?

I posted this in another thread, sorry to seem redundant, but this topic applies here as well.
Sportsmansguide has brand-spankin-new Romanian SKS barrels (in the white) for sale at around $60 each.
They are also threaded.  I am not sure if they are ported for the gas system or what type of threads they have, but I've already ordered one, so I'll provide an update when it comes in.

Now I just need to find a good gunsmith in the Fayetteville area to help me install it!  (I know my limitations.)

From what I've read, I think they are Yugoslavian, but a few places have listed them as Romanian. Sportman's doesn't mention chrome (No chrome would indicate Yugo) Additionally, Romanians don't use the threads/Muzzle device. so I'm going with Yugo. Most likely those threads are 1x14rh which will determine origin for sure.

In other posts people have stated that they are neither ported for gas nor cut for the extractor. The threads should fit the receiver (not sure as to the depth of chamber in regards to the shoulder...)

Also, the rest of the component slots haven't been cut (RSB, FSF, FSB, GB).

My first thought was Yugo as well because of the threads, but they said Rom, so I was going with that.  They probably picked up a crate in Romania that was imported from Yugoslavia and were just going by the last known location.  The description was kind of vague anyway.

I am planning to use it in a SGW bullpup build if all goes well.  I think I'd just need the gas port opened up and keep the rest of the barrel clean.  I have limited skills and tools so I'm hoping to find a good gunsmith here in Fayetteville that knows a thing or two about working with SKS'.

I'll let you know what I get.
