A romanian parts set. I just need something to do in the interum of me getting a reciever and putting it toghter.

Teh romanian AK's always had a black bolt, asn teh black bolt does a lot to keep it non reflecting. Early AK's had polished and in some cases chromed bolts. carriers and what not, but it your case it would almost be foolish,besides, the romanian steel is nothing prized that you'd want to show off and display anyways. Just my opinion. HTH~

I'm with RB on this one. I would leave as is if it is in decent shape and there is no rust or pitting. Basically in a 'good to go' state.

If I had to do some work to it however then I might polish it and leave it in the white.

In any case it's your call and you are the one the end result must please.
