I use a long screwdriver that goes all the way through the handle, and then the whole unit slides back just far enough lift straight up and out.

I field strip mine. I use czech milsurp so i have to after every shoot. My saw grip bolt is hex drive some guys mentioned a screwdriver. I use socket ratchet with extension. Was worried about stripping the threads in the stock, but them seem good so far. If threads did strip you could probably drill it out and put a timesert or helicoil thread in. Then you would have to change the grip bolt to match.

Thx, guys!
For now I'm going to continue to use as per instructions with the screw.  If it fails, then I'll drill the hole thru to the top and put a lock-washer and an acorn on it.
Somebody on another thread said Tapco said that the screwed-on handle/stock is warrented for life.  :0 |

Next in the chute is the Tapco 20/5 mag that requires custom fitting...

The stock has a lifetime warranty, if it fails call Tapco and have them send a replacement, problem solved  :thumbright:

Removing the pistol grip screw is normal/intended use.
