Timbersmith on Cowboys Companion?
« on: October 04, 2015, 06:07:47 PM »

I'd like a Timbersmith stock but will it fit a Cowboys Companion with the scope rail deal on the side?

I believe You will have to cut away a small  bit of wood for it to fit.

That's what I was afraid of. I'd hate to do that to a Timbersmith stock.

My Russians would not fit in my timbersmith. My SKS-S fit in like a glove. If the Cowboy companion is dimensionally the sams as the SKS-S it should fit. If you want to compare measurements just let me know

The issue is that the CC has a scope base on the port side of the rear of the receiver.  On the Navy Arms CC they had to notch out an area in the stock to accommodate the scope base.
I will check mine with a timbersmith in a couple of hours and let ya know for sure.

Sorry for the delay---- The timbersmith will have to be notched to accommodate the scope base. Not as much for the scope that slides on with the thumbscrew. A bit more for the G# type scope mount.
IMO- I would do it if I never intended to swap the stock to another rifle. I have a para without the bayo in my timbersmith and it is a fun gun for the range.
