Tapco stripper clips?
« on: July 15, 2016, 10:10:26 AM »
Hello! After doing research online that NC star stripper clips are junk and old military stripper clips work best, I was wondering if Tapco may consider making good stripper clips that works. That's the beauty of it and the reason why I love SKS rifles, to use stripper clips rather than just detachable mags.

Then you need to check ebay for the strippers marked "BXN"  They are head and shoulders about the others.  Do a search on "BXN Stripper Clips".

They hold the rounds tightly, but are buttery smooth when when put into action.

Thank you JimmyJamesKY!
I just got some in the mail and ordered more BXN!
Are other military stripper clips just as good? Such as Yugo military and Chinese military stripper clips?
Thanks!
Will

I believe the BXN are Yugo Milsurp.  I some Chinese ones, and they are hit and miss...  Those BXN's are top shelf stripper clips.

The BXN are Czechoslovakian.  The Chinese ones are hit and miss as they're the ones repopped by NcStar and others.  I have some Yugo ones from surplus ammo, and while they're good, the BXN's are slightly better.  I've never encountered any Russian made clips.

What a difference going from crappy NcStar to BXN's.  It actually makes loading the SKS easy.

BXN are Czech not Yugoslavian.  However, with the Yugo stipper clips, if you do it right you get the ammo included on the stippers, if you figure in what the stipper clips are worth ($1 each), the Yugo ammo usually works out cheaper than wolf, or at least it used to.

Thank you very much for your helpful replies!  :) I now have 100 bxn stripper clips and ordered 100 more! I had thought about getting chinese military stripper clips but didn't. If they are hit and miss then I'm glad I didn't get those. There is a seller online who lives about about 1 hour from me, sells yugo stripper clips for 1 buck a piece but thanks to ya'll I'll stick with the bxn! To me, there is no point getting sks rifles without stripper clips that works. If I want a detachable mag rifle it would be the sks-d rifle with bayonet which are rare now.

Good score!   You've got the right idea!  Having 1000 rounds on BXN's would give some peace of mind 8)

I just want to say that after I bought my last 100 BXN stripper clips the guy had no more left! So glad I got 200 BXN before they were sold out. Thanks JimmyJamesKY and others for your help and recommendation. :)
