I went to the range last Friday to shoot some sks testloads. A reload using the Hornady .312-150gr with R7 works best at 100 yards for me. 3/5 shots grouped 2" at POA. I got nervous shooting open sights and scaled down to 50 yards. I reloaded Tulaammo components after a ladder test and I printed a 2" group at POA. I ran out of time to shoot Tulammo components with other bullets like the Barnes. My reloads using Barnes 123gr and 150gr bullets grouped Fair at 50 yards using R7. I will try IMR4198 and see if the group will tighten up.

How has your reloading been doing? Don't forget to pickup as much brass at the range as possible.

Pick up as much brass as you can find! Lol

Think a couple of mine are on the moon. :)

Grabbed a catcher from E&L Manufacturing for my SKS and it works perfectly. Catches every piece of brass and does not interfere with operation.

Finally found a 155 gr. cast load that works well in my SKS out to 200 yards. Berry's has some plated bullets that may be worth a try, too.

Gotta link for the brass catcher?

I had saw an ad for a brass catcher for ak. It kicks out for you to rack it then clicks back. I am a little skeptical about fit and finish. I believe they work but will they keep going for an all day range day? Say an Appleseed event.

What I especially like about reloading is that you can make what you need. It might not be saving me money per se but I am able to practice more with specialty ammo.  If a box of 20 rounds of Barnes 308 is $50 give or take, I can spend $50 to make 50 rounds of the same. So that's 30 more rounds I would have to use and practice with.

Gotta link for the brass catcher?

It is # 128 on the page.

Thank you Sir!

I was pretty disappointed when I clicked 128 and learned that the firearm was not included. :)
