 I just came back from the range; I had the guys come out and cut our area  nice and short, it looks great! they also did the 230/50 yard ranges, and I mowed the 450 a couple of weeks ago , so the area is ship-shape; the nets are up, the stickered-up camo fridge is cold, the grill is ready, the electricity has been set up, and the place just needs a few more things to be complete....

 And of course, it needs YOU, so start packing if you haven't, and get yourselves ready for the big OKTOBERFEST BASH!!!!!!!!

 One last time, here's your checklist of stuff you will want to bring....

 A comfortable folding chair for socializing around the fire.
 Some insect repellent or a Thermacell, or both.
 Your own coffee mug, if you are a coffee person.
 Your pillow and blanket/sleeping bag.
 Your cot/air mattress ( and the pump for the air mattress).
 Your personal stuff like soap and a toothbrush and a bath towel.
 A 50-80 foot electrical cord if you need power at your campsite; outlets will be close to your site, but from the outlet to the tent is going to be your cord.
 Your beverages, adult or otherwise, and a cooler if need be.
 A light jacket or a sweatshirt; the forecast is calling for coolish ( mid to high '50's overnight) temps for the weekend.
 A rain coat or a poncho; if you bring one, it probably won't rain; if you don't it may pour, and we will all blame you.
 Your shooting gear- target stands, targets, hearing gear, eye protection, proper range attire (crew-neck shirt, hat, closed toe shoes/ NO flip flops or sandals)  ammo, and guns....

Man, I'll need to make sure I remember my comforter this time.  Last time I had it out on my bed and forgot to put it in the car and that night it was COLD. I ended up waking up in the middle of the night and putting every piece of clothing I had spread out on top of my blanket to provide more warmth before I got back under it.

If it's going to be that cold, I might just bring all three comforters for layering.  (yes, I have three comforters on my bed, what can I say I like to be comfortable)

I don't think Thursday will be doable with the amount of stuff I still have to do, but I'll make every effort to make it there Friday morning before the comps.

Speaking of which, what time will be the cutoff for the Friday comps?

  We sight in on the 450 range at 0830; the comp will begin at 0900-0915 depending on how long the zero session runs.

In the past the Thursday sight-in was afternoon and before heading to town.

  Yes; we set aside a couple of hours around 2:00 or 3:00 for 450 yard range time; it gives everybody a chance to experience shooting at long distance and it enables to competitors to zero at their leisure,as the Friday morning zero time is very short.

  Also, a reminder to everyone, for the comp we provide the targets (B-27's this time) but for zeroing in you have to bring your own targets; don't worry about stands, as we will have the betting up to clothespin the targets in place.

  You can do it; you simply bust it all out TONIGHT, pack it early AM tomorrow, and leave straight from work; if you get out by 5:30, you will be here by 7:45 at the latest......

I'm going to try to leave early in the AM and arrive in time for comps on Friday. If y'all forget something Thursday call me Thursday night and I'll pick it up and bring it Friday.
