I'm confused with 922r Compliance Parts List
monaderio:
Just a question, if I try to make a 922r compliant rifle with US-made parts, where would I find those necessary parts if they are not available in the US market? I am feeling completely lost and uncertain.
Do the 922r compliance parts include parts made by me in the US?
Here is the pistol grip that has been made from the hardwood in US myself :)

As a practical matter, certain US-made parts may be available from suppliers outside the US (Canadian suppliers most likely). Otherwise your limited to what's available stateside. Don't forget about the secondary and used markets.

Yes.

Here are the relevant parts in an SKS Carbine:
1. Receiver
2. Barrel
3. Bolt *
4. Bolt carrier
5. Gas piston *
6. Trigger housing
7. Trigger
8. Hammer
9. Sear
10. Disconnector
11. Stock *
12. Handguard *
13. Magazine body *
14. Follower *
Note: This list has been confirmed by ATF.
To the best of my knowledge items with the asterisk are or have been available from US manufacturers. Most folks replace items 11 through 14 when they modify their SKS. Make sure to keep the original parts so as to be able to return the rifle to it's OE configuration in the future.

The Tapco gas piston is nearly impossible to find.
Nobody in the US is making bolt carriers and bolts.
I haven't even mentioned the receivers and barrels that are produced in the United States.
Trigger, hammer, and sear are still available. 3 count.
Stocks are in stock, but the rifle is losing its original appearance. 1 count.
Handguards are available. 1 count.
Tapco was doing decent mags for SKS with a US-made body and follower. 2 counts.
There are currently 7 parts available, but I require additional parts which is problematic.
LESchwartz:
Tapco made bolts for a short time. I owned one. You might be able to find one on the used market.
So why do you think you require additional parts? The rule can be summarized as "10 or less imported parts". Since the normal SKS only 14 imported parts, you only need to replace four of them . . .
