Sling won't fit E-German Stock?

I am trying to install my sling onto my AK, and it won't fit.  I am trying to put the AK sling through Cheaper Than Dirt onto an East German Stock, and it seems that the D-ring is too big to fit through the rear stock sling mount.  Is there a way to make this fit?  Or am I stuck with the SKS sling on the rifle?

Yeah.

I didn't want the skinny sling on my E.G stocked AK, either.

A european WIDE rear swivel, like the ones that come on the laminated stocks, will replace the narrow one w/o need to modify.

That's how I got the romanian wide sling on this E.G stocked AK.

It appears to be...

I've seen some differences in hole spacing -if that was the case, you could just pry the two swivels apart -and replace the narrow one with the wide.

It's cheap enuff.
