I had a lung infection and I went the doctor's office on base and told her the problem. I said I'm having the same symptoms when I had a chest infection in basic training, and I've been coughing all day for a month. She told me I had allergies, and I said that I've never once had allergies in my life and that I really thought it was an infection. She said "Well I am not giving you antibiotics."
Frustrated, I left the doctor's office and went online and started searching survivalist boards about how to get rid of infections without antibiotics. I found out that antibiotics can be bought on the internet without a prescription. This is what I bought:
http://www.fishmoxfishflex.com/index.php/fish-mox-amoxicillin.htmlThis stuff is the exact same pharmaceutical grade amoxicillin pill prescribed by doctors to humans. It's even marked the same on each pill. It was $21 for a bottle of 50 pills including shipping to my door, which took an agonizing five days. After 48 hours, I started noticing an immediate difference. After five days, the cough was gone. I took 10 days' worth of pills just to be sure it would be completely gone. I still have over half the bottle left, and I have dessicant inside to make sure it stays dry. It will have a shelf life of another two or three years with close to 100% effectiveness.
Later, I called up tricare and had them change my primary care manager (doctor).
I just wanted to share this information with anyone who also may have the same frustration with quack doctors.
Oh, and I don't buy into the hype of "antibiotic abuse" or the scare story about all bacteria becoming resistant, especially in light of the new drugs Merck is coming out with that zap 95% of all previously-resistant strains. The FDA needs to get out of the way because they are holding up progress.
