..and I killed it. I'm not sure if the mini USB charger port contacts spread, if the charger board is bad, or if the battery is completely shot. But, I beat the crap outta this thing! What i really needed was a new phone due to dead battery. This charger was plugged into the phone from noon to midnight for the last 3months.
I got it down to 1 LED on the power meter. If I plug it in and lay the cord just right, the LED flashes to tell me it's charging. I've left it alone for hours on end on the charger. Every time I came back to it, it quit charging on it's own. I was able to pull one LED, may be two after a long (failed) charge. I still got 2-3 evenings of continual charge to the phone off of only 1-2 LEDs.
Last night, it finally stopped charging the phone. I left it on the truck dash all day long, out in the sun. When I retrieved it, nuttin....completely dead. No flash light even.
I think I'm gonna kit bash it. Imma pull the battery out, gut the inboard charger and replace with guts from a 99cent gas station phone charger, and place it all in a smaller project box.
If you're still looking for a BOB charger, I still recommend the unit. If you're like me and putting off replacing a phone due to age and dead battery, this will buy you some time,...but it ain't a fix.
