I voted trucker, just because a previous boss was too cheap to buy E-track and straps.

There are some auto release versions of the truckers hitch that I'd like to learn..

I voted follow through figure 8..
It's regarded as "the safest" setup for life-critical rigging.. Well there is a figure 9, but I've never bothered to learn it...

Although a double bowline with a stopper, I'd trust my life to..

I think its easier and stronger to do the quick release. Certainly cleaner and easier on the straps.

Bowline is a great knot... around since antiquity
Works on just about any type of rope, and doesn't jam..

The doesn't jam part is great, although it's bouncyness is why the climbing community has shied away from it. If you got a bunch of people tying up, loading, and unloading a rope, it can come loose..

A follow through figure 8 just gets tighter and tighter.. of course this can make it bitch to get undone.

I'm torn between a balloon knot and a dog knot.

I like those knots made out of bread with sugar on em.  :)  Seriously.

The figure 8 is a classic climbing knot. Won't come undone and easy to take apart. Sorta
I like the bowline as well BUT I received a very nice cord bracelet from a member for Christmas so I wear that mostly.  :)
