1960 Romanian Purchase.
« on: July 01, 2018, 04:39:16 PM »
Thanks to the two replies I got in the General Discussions about what country made the best all around SKS variant, I purchased a 1960 Romanian from a local pawn shop.  The receiver, bolt carrier and stock are marked RA985, the trigger group and magazine are RA1827 with electro-penned 985.  I don't know if that was done at C.A.I. or if it was a re-build.  The receiver cover is RA3827 and lastly, the bolt is RA1250.  Although a mix master, she is in great shape.  The overall general good condition and the out the door price of $440.00 was enough that I didn't feel that I had paid too much.  After having mostly Chi-Com Type 56's, this is a welcome addition to the collection.  Cheers, Bruce.

Enjoy your Romy!  That's a good price.  Numbers matching Romys are hard to come by & would cost double what you paid.
