Hope this is the right place to post this, but I pulled my Chinese SKS out of the closet this year and took her deer hunting. Gonna try to add some pictures.
Now I remember one of the reasons why I bought it back in the 90s: It's a really nice gun! When I put it away, I had put a Tasco scope on a receiver cover mounted rail on it. I really didn't like it. When I pulled it out this fall, I took the scope and receiver cover mount off and went back to stock. Felt much, much better looking down that barrel.
Still, my eyes aren't what they used to be, and it's a long way from my eye to the stock rear sight, so I added a techsight TS200. I love this gun! Only other thing I did was plug the 10-round magazine so I can hunt legally with it here in Michigan. No plans to do anything else with it. Don't need to turn it into something other than what it is: a ground pounding, working man's gun!
Though I do need to clean up some surface rust or left over cosmoline you'll see in the pics. Don't remember that when I put it away!
