good everyday AR?
« on: June 16, 2024, 06:27:04 PM »
Hello guys.

Not been around much lately. Life has gotten in the way of my fun stuff. I have been whittling down my collection very slowly. But I have updated a few areas. Carry weapons and long range.

I have a few budget and one mid range AR that has some age on it.   I have not been keeping up with the newest and most popular lately and was wondering what would be a good ar to upgrade to. Not a top of line stuff and not budget either. Maybe spending under 2k. Not looking for a long range AR, mostly home protection, something I can carry in my car in a case. Something I will use for home defense and range fun.

Most importantly, something I can take out of the box, clean and lube well, and put 10 mags through it with no hiccups.   I appreciate any suggestions y'all might pass my way. Thanks.

As far as an out of the box AR lots of options in that mid range between an entry level and something like a Daniel Defense.

Hard to go wrong with a BCM Recce 16.

More options would be Springfield Armory Saint Edge, a FN FN-15 TAC3, or Stag arms will have some in the same price range, among many more.

I have heard some good things about the PSA Sabre line.

If you want an out of the box AR with the stated budget I don’t think you could go wrong with a BCM, DD, or a FN factory rifle. I personally wouldn’t consider anything else.

DD is higher in the price range though for the same thing you get with A BCM or FN.  I have seen some Stag arms rifles run pretty hard locally and no complaints, of course I am a little biased since they are made here now.

I forgot about Stag, they also offer a lifetime barrel replacement on all their rifles.

Second for the bcm reccee 16.  Smith and wesson M&P ar-15 are really good value. Iwi makes a decent one as well.
