What these boards are all about
« on: July 09, 2008, 08:28:02 PM »
Above all we are a forum dedicated to the discussion and promotion of knowledge about the SKS rifle.

We are lucky enough to have a wide spectrum of folks who participate, from die-hard "leave it alone" folks to "black rifle" advocates.  All are welcome!!!  (So long as they abide by the board rules.)

If we had to have some kind of overall purpose statement that would be it.  But with that purpose in mind the fact is that we have developed a "community" of sorts, with members coming and going but overall somewhat static with a large group of "old timers" and a huge group of people who have been here for a year or two.  Within that community many guys have met and become friends, shot together, broken bread, and otherwise gotten to know people that they would never have met without the medium of the internet and specifically these boards.

So members of the "community," guys and Ladies who have been around for a while, DO have the ability to engage in discussions about just about anything.  And that is as it should be.  People who have just moved into the neighborhood are prevented from discussing politics and trying to sell things.  We don't know them, they don't know us, and they need to "get acquainted" before we invite them into our (often heated) discussions.

Be aware that we never, ever allow illegal topics to be promoted in ANY way.  That would include such things as modifying a firearm to shoot in fully automatic mode, and ANY encouragement that even might be interpreted as support for armed action against our government or anyone in it.  Such things will result in immediate account suspension whether or not there is a "technical" violation of the board rules.

So if you want to discuss politics, if you want to sell firearms or parts, then participate in the boards, get to know some of the folks who are here on a daily basis, and when you have been here for a while magically new boards and new discussions will open up to you.  Until then, please try to stay within the scope of each forum.

Thank You
