The left finally gets their Oswald moment
« on: June 14, 2025, 02:22:42 PM »
MN house rep and husband shot and killed, as well as a state senator and wife shot and wounded.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/2-minnesota-lawmakers-shot-targeted-incident-officials/story?id=122840751

Apparently a guy impersonating a cop walked to their door and opened fired assassinating them, reports of a complete uniform disguised as an officer and a car as well.
They found a list of other potential target including Walz, Ilhan Omar and Keith Ellison among others.  Though some reports of him having "no Kings" flyers in his car as well.  He,  Vance Luther Boelter, also was a Walz appointee to a State workforce board of some sort, not sure if past or present.

Though it won't matter what side of the isle the guys falls on, get ready to be punished for the act of a one off, meanwhile their crowds of minions are burning and looting, again, and they defend them like they are freedom fighters.

Latest:  https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/57-year-old-suspect-sought-in-targeted-shootings-of-minnesota-state-lawmakers/

Before the most recent redistricting, my home used to be in House District 34B, so Melissa Hortman at one time was my rep in the State House.

Apparently, the suspect is also a former state official -- appointed by both the current and previous Governors to one of the state boards.  He owned(?) some kind of professional security services company.

Despite Democratic-Farmer-Labor control of the state Senate, the governor?s office, and half of the House, Republicans forced Democrats to roll back one of their signature accomplishments from the 2023 legislative session: health care for undocumented people.

The Legislature passed a bill Monday to repeal undocumented adults? eligibility for MinnesotaCare, the state-subsidized health insurance program for the working poor. DFL House caucus leader Melissa Hortman joined Republicans in the House to pass the bill. In the Senate, DFL Sens. Grant Hauschild of Hermantown, Ann Rest of New Hope, Robert Kupec of Moorhead and Majority Leader Erin Murphy of St. Paul also voted for the bill.

Not so sure the suspect would be some sort of right winger -- Hortman was the DFL House leader, but voted with republicans on a controversial budget bill on Monday.  Just shown on TV were a pile of "No Kings" flyers found in the suspects car.

Heh, ABC made no report of the flyers despite them having info of what police found in the car, NY Post mentioned the flyers, but left out any mention of the ID of other targets.  It doesn't get any more slanted than that, and why you have to browse several news sites to get the whole picture, if even then.

The info may not have been available at the time of their report. Modern news is "Get it first, not right" many times. They want the news as fast as possible but rarely care about accuracy much less following up with the correct facts. Not that they care about the facts to begin with unless they can push a narrative they like.

Local lockdown was lifted an hour or so ago.  They now are showing camera footage of the guy several hours ago nearby in Minneapolis.  Manhunt has expanded significantly.

Apparently, press out of India did some background on the suspect:  https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/us-news/vance-luther-boelter-family-kids-education-business-all-about-minnesota-shooting-suspect-101749928714377.html.  Much more detailed information than the local news.

Suspect's wife and some family members have been detained north of the Cities, with cash, weapons and passports:  https://kstp.com/kstp-news/top-news/sources-vance-boelters-wife-detained-for-questioning-after-traffic-stop-near-onamia/.

Reports say that the wife also worked at the security company, so it's questionable as to whether or not she can be charged with anything (weapons violations) at this point.  There are also reports that the suspect lived in a rented home in Minneapolis, not at the family residence SW of the Cities.  Perhaps the two of them were estranged.  In any case sounds like the family members were pulling a "Taco Bell" -- aka, making a run for the border.

Quote
Under the state?s procedural rules, crimes punishable by life imprisonment must be prosecuted by indictment, which is secured through a grand jury. First-degree murder carries a life sentence, while second-degree murder carries a sentence of up to 40 years. The second-degree murder charges against Boelter came in a complaint, which doesn?t require going through a grand jury.

So, just because Boelter wasn?t immediately charged with first-degree murder doesn?t mean that state prosecutors won?t bring those charges in the future. And that?s on top of possible federal charges against Boelter, too.

In Minnesota only a Grand Jury can bring 1st Degree Murder Charges.  So prosecutors bring 2nd Degree Murder charges while getting the Grand Jury seated, etc.

So many questions, so few answers:

1)  What did this guy do for a living?  Pastor, private security contractor, food service executive, humanitarian volunteer, transporting bodies to funeral homes, or just what . . . all have been reported.

2)  Where did he live?  Family home was located SW of the Twin Cities, but yet he was staying in Minneapolis in some sort of rooming house.

3)  Left wing?  Appointed to State board by two different DFL Governors.  Had flyers for anti-Trump rally in SUV.  Hortman was the only DFLer to vote with Republicans on a controversial bill earlier in the week

4)  Right wing?  Supposedly strongly anti-abortion.  Had "hit list" with mostly DFL officials on it.

5)  Why did LEOs immediately think to check on the Hortmans?  There are several other lawmakers living in that area.

6)  Why was the wife and family members detained while seemingly "making a run for the border"?

7)  How did he escape the parameter so quickly while on foot and seem to have a second car nearby?  Did he have help?

And the questions go on and on . . . nothing about this thing seems clear cut.

Federal authorities unveiled their own murder and stalking charges against Vance Boelter, and said Boelter went to the homes of two other state lawmakers early Saturday morning between shooting state Sen. John Hoffman and killing DFL House leader Melissa Hortman. They declined to name them but said one lives in Maple Grove and another in New Hope.

Politics and religion both mainly operate on belief systems. Questioning either is generally regarded as a personal attack. In short, we're dealing with the kinda crazy you'll see in religious extremists here.

I'm just going to say it because it becomes most blatant in cases like this, but the "authorities" never move so fast and work so hard to find and stop someone who targets them.

I agree, this guy was unhinged, obviously. Planned and put some relatively large resources into assassinating political opposition.  I suspect right wing, target list is pretty telling, the flyers being a diversion for motive maybe thinking he might get away and that would draw suspicion away from a right winger if left at the scene, just my guess.  Could be religious based, though I don't recall Jesus telling you to go and kill people, but clearly the guy started down this path a while ago and his family probably knew.

In the big picture when govt becomes this powerful, it is a defacto religion, especially to those who believe its the answer to everything, the lefts reaction to losing the power of it is the most telling of that.  People persecuted for opposing and resisting and is some cases even questioning, its not all that surprising other religious zealots would go to war with it. Wouldn't surprise me if he expected to kick off a revolution with his acts.
