just made a deal on the same ak!  ny cousin inlaw is selling me his for 500 with 100 rounds and two mags.  his beat nikl friend offered him 300 then 400. i laughed since this gun only has 50 rounds put through it.  so prices are sstill fair. unless your nam,es begins with keltek. than its all over the place.
I'd want to shoot it first. This one has been sketchy

Everything is non matching. Except for the barrel and receiver which was made in America. Gas tube was rusty. Cleaned it out and it was fine. The rear sight wouldnt adjust. Had to take it off and do a lot of cleaning. The front sight wouldn't adjust enough so the whole thing had to be turned so that the post could adjust to be on. And now the part that holds the handguard on wiggles. It's really accurate and reliable even through these problems. But it's a mess.

Well, i would get aquainted with a manual and just do a COMPLTE disassembly. clean all the parts! soak in some good solvent. At that point check all your synthetic parts for cracks and worn out holes.   Replace any parts broken, and take that time to maybe personalize the firearm for comfort if original parts r junk.

take it back and get the Yugo
If possible, I would consider it too.

I dont know, The Russians went from the sks to the AK because it was an upgrade. I want to get me another sks at the moment its on my list of next firearm..... BUUUUUT if I got to the gun shop and they had them sitting pretty next to eachother ..... Same price.... Give me the AK ... Im just use to it . Even though I know SKS rifles The Ak has a special place in my heart. Its personal .

He was talking about a Yugo AK (M70AB2), not an SKS.
