Illegals can vote????

One thing though - illegals DO vote in our elections. We passed Proposition 200 here in Arizona to make it mandatory for people manning the polls, health care workers, and social services people to ask for proof of citizenship! It passed overwhelmingly, but has been tied up in court for being 'unconstitutional', which really makes me wonder.

What! Amazing.  Why unconstitutional?  Only Citizens can vote, who would argue asking for citizenship at pools is unconstitutional?  Let me guess, ACLU.

Thanks for the welcome.  I came over when I was 5 (am 38 now) and I have visited family back in Portugal many times.  It is enjoyable to go back for a visit or when I used to travel to Belgium for my job, but let me tell you NOTHING beats the feeling of when the plane touches back down on US soil.  This country is not perfect, but it is the BEST country in the world.

I agree, it does not matter if it were an influx of Canadian's, Europeans, or what have you.  A soverign country must have control of it's borders.  The points about health care, school systems, social security are right on.  Illegal aliens who are not paying their share of taxes (other then sales tax, etc) put a tremendous strain on these systems, especially in border states.

I applaude the Minutemen groups building fences on the boarder on private property.  If the gov can't secure the borders, the people can.

As other posters have mentioned, the gloves must come off when dealing with Mexico.  Mexican's WANT TO WORK.  To better their lives and be able to provide for their families.  Mexican laws, gov polices, and corruption keep the economy from growing the job's it's people need and want.  Someone who immigrates to Mexico and becomes a citizen can not run for public office, fly another contries flag on their property, nor take away the job of a natural born Mexican citizen.  A real bananna republic.

It is my understanding that the HOLY Council on Foreign Relations in DC has released their plan for consolidating the US, Canada, and Mexico into 1 big happy country - with no borders, by 2012.

Do you have a link where I could read more about this?

World Net Daily did a piece on this today - May 11 - titled - Alien invasion: Is it a nefarious plot? It gives the CFA's dates & involvement in this matter, and is a good place to start research on this topic. worldnetdaily.com

Whoa, wait a minute.  If you're talking about the FTAA, that is a trade thing.  It doesn't consolidate our nations into one country as you suggested.

SUUURE it doesn't. By the time I'm an old man we could all be citizens of the North American Free Trade Alliance. We can break it up like this: All the high tech jobs will be farmed out to places like India and Pakistan...maybe even Iraq, where labor's cheaper. The Mexicans will get all the construction/landscaping and cleaning jobs, Americans will all work at Burger King or McDonalds, and the Canadians will be in charge of making hats (touques) and beer.

What is also interesting, is that Americans (and most others) who immigrate to Mexico cannot own land either, at least thats the gist of what I got from everyone I talked to.  Why the freak do we allow them to come here and own land in our country?  I just can't stand their impudence, the way they demand all these rights and what not, and what I can't stand even more is that we are treating them like they're citizens and whatnot with constitutional rights.   Heres a headline for you:  THEY AREN'T CITIZENS, and they have no claim on any part of the constitution for defense.  Illegal Aliens (not "undocumented workers" or whatever bull pc title we're supposed to call them)  are invaders and should be treated like enemy hostiles.

I heard about this earlier, and supposedly, it's no big secret.  I guess just not a lot of people have heard about it.

It's not really to draw North America together into one COUNTRY, but do something of what the European Union has done:  Draw countries into a unified bloc of power, with one form of currency, one military, no borders, shared economics, etc.

It's thought that that is one reason why GWB hasn't cracked down on illegals in the US.

Really interesting though.  Suddenly the US may be able to use Mexican labor to improve MEXICO, instead of them coming up here and destroying our country.

Imagine a nation with Canada's natural resources, the USA's... whatever, and Mexico's labor.  Not bad, it'll give the EU a run for it's money.

Hey, I have an idea... we can add Russia in with the EU, and rename it to "Eurasia".
Add Japan to China and just call them "Eastasia".
Add Australia, South Africa, South America and Britain to the North American Federation and just call them "Oceania".

That would be great!!!

What makes you think anyone, (besides Mexico) would want to part of THAT club? Look how well ( ) the U.S. works now, and multiply those problems by 1000....

Personally, I think we all ought to secede from the USA and create a new nation of states called the ASU. (American States Union) We would still have a Federal government, but each state would decide how much to give them in taxes, instead of the other way around. Of course, even thinking this way in 'Free Amerika' these days is called treason.

I just got done reading about the SPP. I think the powers that be are positioning themselves for all th emoney/oil they expect to be coming from Central & S. America. Lots of natural resources down there yet - there's still a lot for big corporations to rape and pillage. You can bet if Bush and his folks are interested in something, it's because there's money in it.
