I was just wondering if any of you thought if maybe recent, and immediate future problems will cause the civil war/SHTF scenario that John Titor was talking about that is supposed to happen this year (2005)?

I think it is a creative crock of dung, but in its defense, what "Titor" said was more along the lines of the civil war would start with a series of smaller Waco or Ruby Ridge type events.

Post-Katrina New Orleans?  Old lady gets her door kicked in by JBT's who steal her guns (she still hasn't gotten them back) and broke/dislocated her shoulder.  She never even did anything wrong.  Sounds to me like a abuse of government power that belongs in the same class as ruby ridge.

Way to dredge up an old thread!

Seriously, I've been thinking of it because I always knew everything John Titor said was pure crap.

I did get a kick out of re-reading the following though:

2005 isn't over yet!

This reminds me of some other BS I've seen recently. On the history channel they were talking about how the "bible code" predicted the fall of Saddam and that the WMD's were moved to Syria. Now, I think there is a good chance that they were moved to Syria, but they were talking about a war with Lebanon and Syria happening in 2005. Now, I know there was an assasination in Syria, which might be what it was referring to, but it sure looks like time is short on that prediction too.

There's only 2 days left, but all hell can break loose in 2 days.

Prepare and pray, that is all that can be done. I don't ever truly see the general American public taking up arms now. Our nation, in general, is weak and soft.

This is a topic that sparks a lot of attention from all sides.

Myself i tend to think that we have enough red blooded true Americans that won't let this sort of thing fully happen. (or at least i hope).

Government takes control of stuff, restrictions placed, rules, laws and everything else put in place.  Some last, some expire some are changed some are added, some modified.

In the end its someones stupidity or crazy doing that sparks another erruption of rules, bans, laws, etc.   Some nut in Hollywood with a guzillion bullets and a vest and rifles, some quack in a trunk with a rifle...etc.  Wakes people up to the negative possibilities of things.

And who do I think is at the heart of much of the problems.

#1  Media.
Uninformed, uneducated media preachers.  Writers and newscasters that know little about the situation or the events or any sort of detail.  They jump to be the first to cover the story and speculate on events and details in the process calling everything an assult rifle "machine gun".  If only these people could be held more responsible for the hysteria they create of the masses.

In the hands of some nut standing in the middle of K Mart what weapon is going to cause more problems?
1) guy has a semi auto WASR10
2) guy has semi auto Ruger Mini 14.

Media is gonna blast the hell out of the AK by name!!!!...........why because of ignorance...thats all they know.  Just like every other person in the world they recognize AK47 and will say it was a AK machine gun.

Im on a roll i gotta stop.

But i don't think we are on the verge of civil war.  We do still have a few people maybe too few.....but a few who are helping keep things in check.

Hmm, I think so,     The U.N. Basically told Saddam, " Eh, Man We're gonna come inspect your bunker and sh*t, uh two weeks from today."
Theres no dout, they started moving the weapons the minute they started heard news of the U.N.'s arrival.

Man, I thought I was the only one who listened and belivered in the Coast 2 Coast John Titor thing. What a great story and you can see some of the current events coming true but some of it has not.... Which makes me wonder...

For those who are asking who John Titor is... come on, folks... Google is your friend.  Get with the times already.

For the terminally lazy out there...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Titor

The gun confiscations and mass lawlessness of NOLA just after Katrina hit would seem to fall in line with the "predictions".

I personally think that "John Titor" was a very clever invention of some grad students at a school like M.I.T.  Students from various fields that pooled their expertise to make some predictions about where we are going socially, technically, etc. with some clever photoshopping tossed in as "proof".

But read between the lines... even if it is a hoax, as most people believe, there is some pretty good analysis in there of the trends that we're following as a society and what one likely outcome could be.
