Finished off my VEPR-12 tacticool wood mutt
« on: March 06, 2016, 07:28:16 PM »
Here she is finally completed. I tried to make her all-wood, but had fitment issues with the lower hg (tried to use a Yugo m72 lower instead of a Romanian). I then decided to make a mutt to have the best of both worlds. The grip is one of several grips that I've ordered from a great guy off akfiles and ebay. Mikemanassas.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks, I have several hundred shells through the pipe. It will even reliably cycle cheap Wally World target loads through it now. In last year's hunting thread, I posted a picture after I used it to kill a water moccasin.

They definitely are, especially when they're in my front yard.

I managed to get RPK wood on mine, but I'll be #$#$% if I can remember what type of wood it is or where I got it.

You need to use Romanian or Russian. I tried to use a Yugo m72 HG set, but the upper was the only one that fit. The lower was about 1/4 of an inch too short to engage the sling swivel/retainer. At that time, my old lady said it might be a nice contrast to put back on the oem lower with oem foregrip, and to add a Yugo style pistol grip. Since she actually shoots it, I decided to listen and make a tacticool wood mutt.

Here's a video of her shooting it a year ago at a friend's private range in our county. We usually shoot in our backyard now that we're on 6.25 acres.
