Finally got an AK!

A local store was clearing out their AK selection and they had Npap thumbhole stocks for $350 and regular Npap for $399.
I was prepared to settle for an Npap when I noticed this gem.



It's an older Century M70 AB2 with the 1.5mm receiver and bulged front trunion.
It had been quite a few years since this store carried these rifles, and this was apparently the display model that had been hidden in the stockroom when the rest of their stock ran out.

It was only $399, and the only one they had.
I quickly changed my mind about the other Npaps, and snatched this one up.
It's in great shape, and pretty accurate from what I could tell from the limited shooting I did today.

Pretty good price on that rifle!  I might have been tempted myself!

Wish I could've afforded to buy every AK they had.
Definitely would have been a good investment.
They're getting rid of magazines on clearance too, but hoping those get a little cheaper.
AR magazines went for dirt cheap, $6 a piece for aluminum USGI style 30 rounders.
So far I'm just seeing falcon 30 rounders for $8, and US Palm for $13.

Not sure if it's all of them.
I go to the FF in Baxter, MN. Next store is the Mill's Fleet Farm gun and archery range.
Since the Mills family sold FF, it seems that ARs, AKs, and most semi autos are on clearance.

Ill have to check my local FF.

They had a damn good surplus sale around 4th of july.

I wish my npap was that low when I got mine last christmas from FF. My poly npap was $530 out the door with two mags.

too bad we don't have a farm and fleet in Michigan all we have is TSC and dunhams sports. But I am currently working on my first AK right now. Bulgarian AK-74 all matching parts kit and I am almost finished building the receiver from just a shell.

I replaced the plastic handguards with some surplus wood, and picked up a cleaning rod.



I also replaced the pistol grip with an Ergo grip I found on clearance, but not sure if I'll keep it on though.

The FF in Baxter sold out.
They had 5.45 Saiga's on clearance for $450. :o
Wish I had more money to spend. :(

Now you need a correct color Grip and it will look even better....

The original grip in the first pic is the correct type & color.  The mag looks to be a grey Korean though. :)

The Century M70AB2's are very good kit built AK's.
