Got the new AK.

Arsenal SAM7R -61. Wanted the -51 but this one was in stock. 



It came with the 10 round mag, sling, butt stock cleaning kit, cleaning rod and oil bottle. Got the Bulgarian 30 rounders on sale from CDNN.

The sling was a bit of a challenge to get on as it's all rivited together.

Is it worth it to go with optics? It has a mount thing for a rail or whatever. Seems more like a close range weapon but I guess the x39 round is capable of 400 yards?

Oh, best to leave the furniture the way it is? I kinda like the wood look but I don't know what will work with the arsenal.

Actually 600 if you are that good. If you are going to put a scope on it I would recommend a fixed 3 if you plan to shoot for distance. If you think you need more or dont want to be stuck at a fixed 3 then maybe a 1x6.

That's all I have for now. The 3 Bulgarian ones were a little over $50 on sale. I saw where u can get a 10 pack of the Korean ones for $100. I'll probably wait and check out the gun show first.

Aimsurplus has surplus polish mags for 10.95 each.......I just picked up 10 they look like new, I will be picking up as many as I can sneak past the wife....

The 1st link wont work because there is a curse on the link and the site auto edits them out. Try this one it's the one in the top middle, if I were looking to shoot more then 100 yards with my AK it would be my choice.
