Need a little help identifying this variant of mine
« on: November 02, 2016, 10:22:47 PM »

I picked this up about seven years ago off GB. There wasn't a lot of action on it because the seller had it spelled "Balgarian" in the title. I was checking to see if this was a krink of sorts. Also about rarity. Always thought about SBR'ing it. Thank you in advance gentlemen.

Trunnion markings?
Receiver markings?

A 7.62 x 39 with a Bulgarian combo FSB/GB.

Not sure it has the lower component pin in place. That is what retains the missing muzzle device  plunger and spring.
The Bulgarians did not build an underfolder in that configuration AFAIK.  Could be a hybrid of mixed countries.
Pistol grip may be Bulgarian.  Handguards might be Romanian late type or USA made IWD.

It's built on an ITM (Ohio Ordnance) receiver. I'll take some more pics when I get home later this evening.

Looks like a mixer.  Trunnion & barrel perhaps Romanian?  Rear sight leaf alpha marking?  The FSB/GB is Bulgarian. Underfolder stock is Hungarian or Polish.

The retention pin is there just located to the side of the FSB/GB.

Doh., sorry I meant the lower component pin that goes through the small round flat area on the bottom of the FSB. Looks like no pin.

The upper component pin is what retains the muzzle device retainer/plunger.
Confusing you and myself on the earlier post.

It appears to be a mixed parts build. You can see the old component pin channel(s) in the front of the barrel.
Barrel was turned down for some reason. Possibly a ban era Romanian barrel?

Thank you gentleman! And I sure do to LG... I'd just never seen one like it before and hadn't taken the time to pick the brains of the pros on here.

I remember seeing them in Shotgun news years ago, The fake suppressor was the item I remember. They always carried a premium over other AK at the time.
