New to SKS, how does this accuracy seem?

Shooting 3-5" groups with no magnification at 100 yards with a surplus rifle and cheap ammo is not a bad thing in my opinion. With a small amount of magnification like a 3x I bet that would tighten up.

What I'm seeing is a 2.5-3" MOA group and that's a little better than average for any SKS. Average is about 4" MOA. If your Vortex is a 2-3 MOA dot then you got your hits inside the dot and that's plenty good. If you hunt deer you'll never fail to take one with that rifle.

You are shooting just fine  If the target had been unfolded I bet that they all would have been on paper.
