I guess the other thing would be 'new with lifetime warranty vs who knows how many rounds have been though the barrel'.

I have shopped used Glocks from time to time on auctions or local and the dagger pieced together is still cheaper for a new gun vs used.  My problem is every time I shoot a stock Glock it's always a meh feeling, not the groove feeling I get with my M&P or Sig. So I always come away thinking if I find one stupid cheap I might get one instead of gottahaveititus.

The Daggers seems a better option all around in that respect for me.  The frame and grip are not exactly like the M&P but I expect I will like it.  The slide is slightly more holster and carry friendly with the carry cuts.

My deal is, I want a handgun that uses Glock mags to compliment my PC Carbine and AR9 so, it has to be a glock or glock clone of some kind. Other than the Dagger, I have only found Gen 3 glocks on GB to be in the same price range. I guess, for me, that means, given the previous discussion, I'll be getting a Dagger. Now to decide whether to get the full size or the compact, LOL.

I think all the slides on sale are for the compact, so if bargain hunting, that choice is made for you.

I managed to watch Mr guns n gears review.  I probably should have beforehand, it was mostly good except the part about how suppressors don't run well on Glocks or clones without tuning for them.  I don't have a pistol suppressor, so I guess that's a non-issue right now.  Maybe I will toy around with a compensator at some point.

Personally I would go with the dagger. I have smallish sized hands for my size and the gen 3’s are just too blocky for me. I sold my Gen 3’s and updated to Gen 4’s. The Dagger frame is nicer then any generation Glock including the 5’s which I really like.

I should also add that the Glocks are going to be a bit more refined out of the box. The slides will be a hell of a lot slicker. The PSA will clean up after a good cleaning, lube, and a few mags.

Look into lone wolf's frames. One of them is pretty thin vs other clone offerings IIRC. I have the opposite problem, so I tend to avoid those frame. I hate Glck gen 3's due to the small finger groove spacing.

What about the cut out slides,  for looks? I can't imagine I will need cooling vents for what I will do with it.

Also I see some of the RMR cut slides have the sights in front of the optic cut, is that to allow more room for an optic or something?

Looks and weight. You lose some weight but open up the internals to external debris. I wouldn't use an open frame for a combat/CCW piece

Yeah some of them are really cut up, I imagine they are lighter.  I don't need it to be zoomy, I just want it to work, though I doubt it will be a carry gun much if at all.

I also have that problem the finger grooves on gen 3 Glocks don't fit right, hopefully the single bump on the Dagger won't be an issue.

This gets confusing, so how different internally are gen 4 Glocks? I know the 5th gen are fairly different. And named the 4th gen G19 to G19c and then back again to G19 in gen 5s?

I also see I procrastinated that some of the slides I was considering are off sale now.  :banghead:

I see suppressor height sights and lower 1/3 cowitness sights, are the 1/3 cowitness higher than the other?   Are most pistol red dots the same height?

My hand is so big I can cover my p365 under it easily. I lose almost 2 fingers off the grip too when it's held correctly.

Regarding sight height.

OK, but where do suppressor height sights fall in that or do they even get in the sight picture on a low mounted dot? I prefer the lower 1/3 on rifles I have had that cowitness, although I don't have any anymore, they are all optics or irons.

My hands are big, but not all that big and I have a pinky dangling off the 365 and the others wedged up on the grip, one of the main reasons I never had a hankering for one, just too small.

Was all set to buy the RMR slide with the Holosun, and then they put the Doctor cut one on clearance, so it's coming instead.

So now I am shopping optics for that footprint, basically unless going off with a cheap knockoff, its coming down to Vortex viper of Burris fast fire II or III.  For those using these, what's a good size dot?  Most I see many are 3 MOA, the FFII is 4 moa and the Viper is 6 moa.  I kind of was wanting the donut dot, but I will try a regular dot for a while and keep the cost down until I figure out what I like best.

I prefer 3 vs the 6 which I felt was way too large.  I believe there are a few Primary Arms branded red dots that will fit Dr cut slides.

Heh, you ever sit back and wonder "how did I get here?"

I had the best intentions not to cheap out and get what I really wanted, but I cheaped out because apparently money does not fall from trees, and I find myself drawn to a sale price like a moth to a flame.

I compromised with the doctor optics cut slide, which is not such a bad thing, but have slid on my low end threshold for a sight.  I have seen mixed reviews on Crimson Trace optics, I likely would not gamble with them being close to the price of other midrange reputable ones like Vortex, Burris or Primary arms.   But Midway had to close out a model of their compact reflex for 70 bucks shipped, so I bit.

https://www.midwayusa.com/product/102062006?pid=455677

I read one question in the Q&A that asked if it fit a Dagger, and someone said no, I guess I will see. It's the same dimension in the specs as a Burris fast fire which will fit.  If nothing else its cheap enough to use on something else since it comes with a picatinny rail mount.

If this sight works and holds up I am $335 to me for a Glock clone optic mounted pistol.
