Hi everyone,
I just got my SKS a few weeks ago. It shot fine but now I am having issues with it after doing a cleaning on it. After reinstalling all the parts, the hammer won't go off, the trigger is just "loose" well I pull on it.
Digging a bit deeper, it seems like the disconnector is being pushed too low by the bolt assembly for it to fire the hammer. I'm not sure why this would suddenly be an issue. You can see in the pictures that in the viewing window of the trigger, with the bolt assembly in, the disconnector is a bit too low compared to the sear. On the other top-view picture without the bolt assembly, I'm not sure but it seems like the disconnector is not centered in the middle of the hole.

I tried disassembling the trigger group also, it seems fine I think. If I manually hold the disconnector and align it with the sear it does fire the hammer when pulling the trigger.

So, bullet chambers, bolt is forward, everything looks good, ready-to-fire. Pull on trigger, and I can feel the trigger slightly graze the sear but goes right under it because the disconnector is pushed too low, so trigger pull does not fire the hammer. Not an expert, but my guess is either the trigger group is not sitting properly on the receiver, or the disconnector is slightly bent or not sitting properly in the trigger group, somehow.
I quickly saw a video on youtube where the guy filed it the disconnector down... I don't want to do that, it was working fine previously.
Thanks in advance for the help!
