For those of you that have been longing for a return to our old camping/shooting event in Clewiston - we did it without you!

Just kidding. No such luck I'm afraid, but I'd been looking toward trying to set up something myself and contacted a couple of the local guys who it turned out were independently also trying to see if something could be worked out at a similar spot just north of Lake Okeechobee. In the meantime, they decided to all meet up at the old range, which is still open to the public for a daily fee. I was able to horn in on their action, and I even made it there more or less on time for once. It was great seeing these guys, but it was a little bittersweet. I was reminded of a meme I saw sometime ago about how once in your youth, you and your friends all went out to play for the last time and didn't know it. Well, back in 2018 we all attended the last of these events and didn't know it. Hard to believe it's been over six years. I did want y'all to know though, that several of us are still busy trying to see if something can be set up. In the meantime I wanted to post up a couple of pictures. Liam showed up to for a bit just to visit, but he didn't do any shooting. As you can all see, he now cuts quite the profile in his police uniform. He's now a K9 handler apparently, and he's married and has a child.

BTW, the area is a bit different than the last time we went. Two huge pre-fab metal buildings have been erected in the eastern portion of what used to be the camping area. I'm not sure if the covered area that used to serve as the kitchen still exists. Also, a large sand berm has been placed in the pistol area making it shorter, though it's a bit strange since it doesn't go all the way back to the original back berm so there's technically a small enclosed area back there (which I did not explore). Some of the older more decrepit structures seem to have been removed too.
The groupshot is of: Liam, Eric Bresnahan, [REDACTED], myself, Will Perry, and Steven Brehm. A few of them brought their kids too, and two of them are standing up front.
