Next is the removal of the hammer pin.
*Make sure you hold onto the hammer securely as you press the trigger and ride the hammer up to where it contacts the lower receiver. If you don't ride it or at least put some leather or cardboard in-between where the hammer and the lower make contact, over prolonged repetitions of this, you could cause a crack in your lower from this.
take your punch and find the hammer pin. Here it is:

next take some tape and use it to protect the finish on the lower. You can still see the hammer pin that you need to drive out with the tape in place:

apply the hammer to the punch to remove the hammer pin:
