China simply can't invade the US. Sure they could call up close to 200 million troops but how would they get here? Our Navy would blow them out of the water before they even got out of port.

OTOH, if we invaded them China would just nuke our troops as they landed or overwhelm us with vastly superior numbers. On neutral ground, we'd utterly destroy them, now, but in 20-30 years this may not be true. In fact if China opened up and became buddies with everyone they could quickly become the most powerful nation in the world because they could get technology easier.

I don't believe our reign as the big boy on the block is over just yet but I don't think there's any doubt that we're declining and China is rising. It's only a matter of time before they overtake us. Only us destroying them now can prevent this but if we started crap with China there's a good chance it would be TEOTWAWKI when the nukes start flying. Especially if Russia got involved.

They are at some levels, yes. That cannot be denied. But the one difference is that the U.S. is already the world super power. I was talking about the current ability of China to become such a demagogue.

What I see happening is that China will try to mess with Taiwan, then we will have to step in (since we promised to help Taiwan if China attacked) then WW3 will kick off. I feel safe in saying that Russia will head straight to the Chinese side as soon as the first shot is fired. They have already sold the Chinese a huge amount of Su-27 fighters, and are starting to get them the newer Su-30's too. They now have an airforce. Not to mention that their recent boost in IL-76 transport planes proves that they are looking at a much larger goal than just Taiwan. They have a way of unloading a large number of troops in key positions. Their generals have made statements that China will use large amounts of their new ballistic missles as anti-access/sea-denial if anyone should attempt to bring war ships near them once war starts. They have developed missles that can attack just about anywhere in the US. The generals also have stated that these new missles were designed to fool the US' missle defense. Of course, I can say that I have an auto ejecting G48A89, but that doesn't make it true, does it.

Europeans nations HAVE invaded and occupied parts of China. Not the other way around.

Any war with China will be Economic/Trade wars. Military attacks would be probing attacks at best. In an all out conflict, worry more about getting Iodine and uncontaminated food. Or save a bullet for yourself.

senseless fact - if the chinese populace marched into the ocean in a single file line..it would continue FOREVER. The amount of them already alive + their rate of reproduction would create an infinite line of chinamen into the sea.
