Well I would definitely go to Costco first thing. Big Structure, No windows, Very few doors. Cement walls. Main entrance is steel. Enough food to last a lifetime, they also have a gas station. I mean, it's got all I need, except for Ammo, but I have over 1,200 rounds of 7.62x39. And over 3,000 .22's.

Yeah, and just about everyone who ever saw  Dawn of the Dead but thought they were being more creative than going to a mall will be there waiting to fight you.

you better have an army, if you are planning on taking over and securing places like costco, walmart, etc....  you and everyone else in that immediate area have the same thoughts, so there will be plenty of fighting with them, in addition to the zombies who will be attracted to this large concentration of people...

It depends on how the virus affects the body (if anything like pcp a body shot may not stop the said zombie before you are infected) in that case a well placed head shot would be your best bet.
