I am still not sure how it goes from human to human? Does it get tansfered from human to human by bodily liquids or is it airborn?

I never thought I would say this, but if it does get SEVERLY bad when it goes from human to human, I will strike out for the woods for awhile.

By that time it could already be to late for you.  You could possibly get sick in the field then its all up to you.  I honestly think the bird flu if it starts to go human to human won't be that bad.  I mean in the places people have gotten sick have you seen how they live and their sanitary conditions.  They are very poor I have seen us practice better hygine while camping or in the field.

If Bird Flu is reported in my State no Quaranteen wil hold me, why stay? They just are waiting for you and all those in the area to die, and then they will remove the bodies. If found in my State im going to start carrying a Gun and will wear a Gas Mask as a precaution.

Your gask mask may or may not stop the pathogen who knows especially the trashed out surplus ones that are sold out there on the market.  Do you have enough decon materials because you will need to decon before each time you take your mask off.

Not to be a ass guys but it really is not a if but when. Also i was thinking about how it might jump to humens. The way i see it is that it has jumped to humans but not mutetaed to the point it has any adfects on us,we are more like a carrier. It is in their bodies just siting there and as i see it them more time this goes on it is only a matter of time before it mutetaes.By spending all this time in our bodies and living in us it has to chagen to stay alive. To put it simplie it is like any other virus. They frist show up in animals mostley live stock. The one reason the show up is that when we raise these animals their living condishions are bad and are just the right condishions for a prime breeding ground for all kinda of nasty little things. And sene we are the ones doing this and well are around them we thus become the carriers of what ever comes form this breeding ground and it is only a matter of time till they mutate to the point where we are more the just a carrier we are a victume.Theses are only my thoughts on this but if you look to the past you will know i am right this is not the frist nor the last nasty little thing to come form our own doing.

used to keep about 10 days food/water (out here in CA, that would get me/fam through any riot, earthquake, etc...)

now facing the bird flu i am tring to get up to a 3 month supply- pricy, but if this hits, i would try to wait it out in the house... to minimiz exposure (no travel, mail, markets, etc)...

Wow! You guys really know how to loose control and freak out huh? The bird flu hasn't even reached here yet and your already talking about nukes and terminating whole populations. Calm down for God's sake.

If and when the bird flu jumps from bird to humans then that is a sign of a mutation in the strain. This means that the genetic makeup of the virus is fairly unstable and going through constant changes. Will there be loss of life? You bet. To what degree? No one knows. However, what is known is that the virus will evlolve or mutate more (most likely to a less lethal strain). A virus  exists for one purpose, to make more copies of itself. It needs us to stay alive for that. As that happens, we build up imunities to the virus, and make the virus even less and less lethal.

Basically, your tripping before the train has even left the station. Calm down.

When you are watching the news I am sure you have seen crazed shoppers buying food and other stuff before hurricane, snow storms, and power outages... You can do that to, but I choose to be prepared ahead of time.

Calm down? How can you tell we are worked up from just reading words on the internet?

Who's freaking out?  It's called being prepared.

What you don't seem to realize is that viruses are constantly mutating.  The virus, once it mutates to be able to survive longer in the air, will be able to enter our bodies and replicate very rapidly.  It will take a very long time before we can build up immunities to this virus, after all, many of the people that it infects will DIE.  We built up immunity to the Spanish flu of 1919, yes, but millions of people died before that could happen.  Immunity is built up over years, and unfortunately thousands of people will die before then.  If you get this, there's a roughly 50% chance you will die.  If you manage to survive, congratulatons, you have built up an immunity... to that strain.  If it mutates again, it could be just as lethal, but you'd have a sleightly higher chance of surviving it again.  And if you go on surviving each strain, your body gets better at combating that type of flu.

But lets not kid ourselves.  This is a very deadly flu and when it hits, you don't want to be in it's way.

I am calmly prepairing...
the virus is already going bird to human, but if in just one person it mutates to human to human, this thing could go global in a span of 3-4 days.  currenltly it is about 40% mortality of those who catch it, and thats with lots of medical attention.  Imagine an outbreak world wide, so that no mediacal attention is available-

I have seen reports of it reaching Iraq. Now it can jump the ocean with our returning troops. If this hitz in a big way we may see pyers a burning.
