" Did you have the safety on when removing and reinstalling the trigger group? If not you may have bent something reinstalling with the safety off. I'm sure someone that knows more than me will chime in soon. Any chance of getting a pic of the TG."

no did not have the safety on, will try to get a picture posted assuming I can get the trigger group back out, it takes a couple  pretty hard hammer blow at just the right angle , need to buy a pin punch first, a phillips screw driver does too much damage.  I have had the trigger group out several times and the little nub is getting really banged up.. I have read on other posts that you can push on the nub with a cartridge, NO WAY on mine, it has always taken a great deal more force than you can achieve with just a hand push.  And I don't have a second person or a vise to hold the gun.

When I first got the gun, I looked at Krivaari's pictures and my trigger group looked like one of his "good" examples.

If I can get it apart one more time, I will try the assemble rifle out of stock method.   The trigger group installs nicely, very difficult to get it out, has been that way from day one.

Should have dry fired it in the store, now am beginning to wonder if the trigger ever worked.  It certainly appears to be an unissued gun.

There does seem to be some confusion about what I am doing.  The  assembly portion of the diagrams that I am using say that once you have the gun all assembled, you are supposed to pull the bolt back and forth a couple of times to make sure everything is working.  When I pull it back, it does not "fly forward" like someone referred to. It just locks in the back position, and the only way to change it is to pull the receiver  cover, take out the bolt and the firing pin assy  and reassemble.  Same thing, repeatedly.

If you pull the trigger, it will move about 1/8 inch, comes to a hard stop.  I was incorrect earlier when I stated the trigger would not move at all when on safety.  no change at all, same 1/8 inch.

As I said, first goal is to get the trigger group back out, but not until I can get to the hardware store and get a pin punch, will let you know.

You have two answers in your ORIGINAL thread! http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=100719.0  posts #6 & #8.
It's hard to help you if you get impatient and multipost the same thing in different threads  :banghead:

Sounds like you already got 'er goin'....

Sure enough, the hard stop is the trigger bar hitting the sear rails...primary disconnector too short.

Sometimes, I think they get bent on installation, too, based on all the "step on it", rubber mallet installations I hear about.
