Tapco Stock = 1
Tapco Handguard =1
Tapco Mag =2
Tapco Muzzle Brake =1

Total = 5

Leftover imported Parts = 10

Looks compliant to me

I've read the SKS FAQ about the 922 compliance issues but I'm not sure I'm clear on it. The way I'm reading it is that if you take the existing magazine out of an SKS so it will accept a Tapco 20 rd or some other aftermarket mag, and that's the only thing you do, then you've just broken the law. You've removed 2 parts from the rifle in it's original configuration and now must remove more to be in compliance. I don't want to add a Tapco stock or gas piston or anything else, I just want it to accept high capacity mags. Am I right?

Cheech:  That's about right.  But think about keeping the original magazine and loading up some stripper clips.  I think you might match interchangeable mags in real-world throughput, and sure would be in better shape once the hi-cap is empty.
