What is the cheapest route to being 922 compliant?
« on: April 03, 2012, 10:28:16 AM »
I just ordered a Yugo and I haven't received it yet. I was looking at the parts to make it 922 compliant. What is the cheapest route to go? Can you have the parts, but not install them? Don't know if I want to dump loads of cash into this. I'd rather spend the cash on ammo.

Thanks for your input.

It depends on what you want to do, and what stuff you've already purchased.

The cheapest route?  Don't do anything to it.  Leave it as is.  If the rifle you ordered is legal in your area, you are gtg.

Now, spend money on ammo. 8)

Get a cleaning kit, a sling, some stripper clips, ammo and something to carry your ammo in.  Done.  Now get to know your new rifle.
Have you ever shot a SKS yet?

I must have misread the compliance. I thought they had to be made compliant? I did order a sight tool, round extractor, and stripper clips. I have an Army three point sling.

Compliance is only an issue if you start replacing parts such as the stock, magazine, gas tube, etc...
If you leave the rifle as is you are legal.

That's good stuff to have.  The round extractor used to be really important with Chinese ammo.
