Does any body know the size limit of a detachable mag for hunting in WI?
Hind sight is always 20/20, but looking back its still a bit fuzzy.

Ya better find out because the Forestry service don't take that kind of thing lightly.
The published hunting rules should explain it.
If it doesn't, you can email or phone the Forestry service and they can tell you.

It used to be five, no idea what it is currently.  As a resident let me see what I can find out.

And being stocked by OO isn't a bad thing at all; his 'seconds' are better than a lot of 'firsts' when it comes to rifles...heh heh

A rifle has to be at least 26 inches long with a 16 inch barrel, cannot be fully automatic, and has to be larger than .22 caliber. The regulations are silent on the issue of magazines and magazine capacities.  Hope that helps.

I saw an ChiCom SKS at the MN State Fairgrounds Gun Show today.  It had a 5-round fixed magazine that looked to be Chinese made.  The rifle was marked "Chinese SKS with 5 round Wisconsin Hunting Mag".

I think that might be for the guys from Illinois so they know where they are when they wake up in the woods on opening day of season...but I could be wrong...
