This same topic was pretty much discussed in another thread with some very similar comments.

The whole "I'll shoot everyone" mentality really does bother me.  That's also why I have no intentions of going anywhere near ANY populated area.

I feel the same way. If i were bugging out, and taking a wood rout to BOL the biggest thing i would fear is some freaked out guy patroling his immediate area

f you do not have your group together now - It may be too late. After the event happens, you cannot trust anyone. Trying to form a group then will surely mean death.

While we are talking all this key board commando stuff.  I have a simple question.  How many of you have built charity into your preps?  I'm not going to get into when or where, that deserves a thread of it's own.  Seriously who has thought of that.

So a family of 4 show up and you are going to kill them and take their stuff.  Anyone that think that they can murder, especially murder kids, shouldn't be on this forum.  They should be on psychos or us forum.

Warning shots. I couldn't ever kill anyone innocent. But shoot enough near someone and they'll leave.

Did someone say they would kill anyone looking for help, just to take their stuff? Maybe I missed that statement :?

I believe what everyone is saying is that strangers scouting for resources will be a threat to those who are well supplied and hunkerdowned. And, we will defend our lives,- "resources" with lethal force if necessary.

Thank you, another human.
I imagine very few of the "I'll kill anyone who steps past my fence" have never even pointed a real weapon at a squirrel, let alone another human.

Take another look at the survey questions.  The last one to be precise.

I too believe in protecting my place and supplies.  I will not be taking strangers off the street.  But think on this.  If you kill the adults and leave the kids, haven't you actually killed the kids also.  How are they going to survive with the parents?

Prepping is about planning.  Plan the charity.  Make plans with your Church or other organization or even a group of neighbors.  Remember the soup kitchens in the 20's.  They didn't give this out from their homes. Just food for thought.

Family first, then me, then others.

If I in hard times I don't try to make a difference who will?

I agree that it might be to late and trying to put a group together after the fact is dangerous, but adding a couple of people based on skills could be smart. I mean I would find it hard to turn away a Dr even if he had no food guns or supplies. I would take in any who could strengthen the group, and not because they were "HOT" adding high maintenance females who are single is a recipe for disaster. IMO

Shootist62, I agree with you.  However, how many Spec ops/operators/experts have you run into that turned out to be frauds?  I know that there are a ton out there now when there is no need to lie.  If someones family survival depends on it I would expect a tale woven in gold braid.  Just food for thought.
