Don't want to start a new topic, but would like to refresh this one.
Is there any news/updates to it?
There was a conversation last year I had with the seller in the gun shop. From the best of my memory. I waved the issue about the bullpup stocks and its unclear status for SKSes in Canada/Ontario. The answer was: it is not illegal. Their store used to import SGWs year or so ago (remember, I visited them in the summer of 2019). I addition he said that if there is an acceptable 18.5in/470mm length of barrel, and 26in/660mm overall length, it still under non-restricted firearms, but only in case if there is no mods done to barrel/bolt/receiver/original trigger group.

I am still thinking whether it is legal to own it in Ontario, CANADA.
I purchased a donor-stock and trigger group for the bullpup project. Already started iot, but it is unclear for me whetyher it is legal to make one on my own.

Any ideas/news/suggestions???

Unfortunately the original poster of this topic LKermit passed away about a year or so ago and his stocks are no longer available for sale. As far as importing/exporting stocks I cannot help you with that.

Exporting Co here in the states has to go through some red tape to get set up for legal export and then there are restrictions, don't know if stocks are restricted or not. Scopes are, other firearm parts are.

If the value of the sock is less than $500.00, the exporter could use the 123.17 (a) license exemption.

I'm not even close to an expert on import export stuff.  However, I think you might have missed an important exemption . . . I don't know what the "123.17 (a) license exemption" is, but I think it might be the thingy that lets you export without paying for an export license.

Sad to hear.

The main question is: can I legally own the "bullpup" stock in Canada, and is it legal to make one myself, as long as I am a handy person.

There's lots of opinions about the legality of the bullpup stocks for SKS in Canada, but yet uncleared.
Colleagues could you tell me , please. Is it legal if I make my own bullpup stock on my workbench in my garage?

LKermit's son still had 3 of his stocks the last time I checked. I don't know if they were complete with linkage. PAX
